Game Play

I love playing games. I also love to record my game so I can look back on my dismal scores and laugh at myself. Well, actually, when I play them, I thought I did OK, that is until I looked at the scoreboards at the end!
I've recorded a few games, all of which are below.
Warning: These recordings may contain solutions and spoilers to puzzles and other game challenges.

PC Audio Games

Aprone

Aprone is the audiogames persona of Jeremy Kaldobsky. His games, written mostly in an outdated version of Visual Basic, are addictive and fun.
His games, which are either strategy or simulation based, are still being made, updated and maintained. Here's hoping that one day he will port his games over to a development platform which is more supported towards future versions of Windows.

BAVISoft (now defunct)

Blind and Visually Impaired Software (otherwise known as BAVISoft), made its debut title in 2000. The first audiogame of its kind, Grizzly Gulch, incorporated a virtual reality audio world. You could go places, interact with people, play other smaller games, and battle your enemies.
After the release of Chillingham in 2004, BAVISoft suffered a lot of grief for its so-called overpricing and lack of demos, the games being sold purely on CD. This, amongst other personal issues, caused Jeff Gibbons, the founder of BaviSoft, to leave the scene, not having made its promised Chillingham II sequel.
The last we heard was in 2013, when, due to a compliance complaint filed with ICANN, their website was removed from the internet for failure to respond to contact requests.
Today, BaviSoft are well remembered and, for some people, sadly missed. The games, which are no longer sold, are played by their proud owners, such as myself, in the spirit of nostalgia, and memorial to BaviSoft.

Blastbay Studios

Blastbay Studios is the triumphant return of Philip Bennefall in 2008, after the closure of his previous site over at PB-Games (see below). While the site is still active and most of the games still available, Philip's passion for gaming is now being concentrated more in his full-time business, over at Elias. As a result, his game engine, Blastbay Gaming Toolkit, has been made free, while his only paid game, Q9, has been sold off to Leasey.

BPCPrograms (now defunct)

BPCPrograms, formerly run by Munawar Bijani, suffered its second closure back in 2015, having initially attempted to sell off rights to his games.
Initially creating games for notetakers and DOS, some of his games were eventually ported over to Windows. Development halted after the release of Treasure Hunt, and finally the doors were closed for the first time.
At this point, X-Sight Interactive, who were just starting in the audiogame world, accepted him as programming manager and organiser, but after a complete lack of activity by other parties, he eventually left the team.
Soon after this, he reopened BPC Programs, and began work on his new title, 3d velocity. It was after two versions of this game that the doors closed again.

BSC Games (now defunct)

BlindSoftware.com, founded by Justin Daubenmire, sold many accessible, specialist-made pieces of software for blind users to use. These included a talking clock, an MP3 player, a MIDI player, a diary, and several small utilities.
Later on, in 2002, Justin wished to set up a division that would write games. Daniel Zingaro, having made games for MS-DOS and notetakers, applied for the position and, despite only having done research to answer the test set by Justin, was accepted. Together they worked on several games.
While working on a game called Castle Quest, one of the developers left, taking the source code and an awkward atmosphere as to who owned the legal rights. As a result, the game never got released and BSC, though still active, ceased to make any newer titles.
Towards the end of BSC's lifetime, their older titles were updated to provide support for at least a few Windows versions into the future, and shortly afterwards, Justin vanished from the community.
Justin made his final appearance in 2014 when he stated that he was "old and bald" and thus no longer interested in supporting his games or his accessible software. Thus he made a final bulk sale which included a key generator, and then said his final goodbyes.
The BSCGames domain is now owned by Richard Yaming and the BlindSoftware.com domain is owned by Dennis Town and acts as a go-to for resources relating to his online mud, AlterAeon.

Kitchensinc, a funny play on the word Kitchen Sink, was operated by the late James H. "Jim" Kitchen, who unfortunately passed away on 2nd August 2015, aged 58.
Jim has written many games, firstly for MS-DOS in GWBasic, then for Windows in Visual Basic 6. Concentrating originally on classic dice, board, sports, TV shows and electronic hardware games, he then became bolder and bolder, making simulations, adventure games and driving/racing games, before taking us all by surprise with his X-rated games.
His last games were Press your Luck (a US TV show), and Pizza Delivery (a simulation).

Klango

Klango first started out as a software games console (Klango Games) before branching out into a fully-fledged community and application suite (Klango Network). The Klango system seems to have ceased providing updates, however, despite talk of the Klango network being taken offline, at the moment, is still very much alive.
